Musical Braille

Blind embossed prints
15" x 15"

Somerset paper
To purchase please contact me.

Using a unique braille score system devised by the artists, these prints translate a range of music scores into Braille, printed across multiple record shapes impressions.

The outer band of braille represents the treble clef, while the inner band of braille represents the bass clef and the spacing of each note represents the length of the note. This translation would allow someone to feel all of the musical notes simultaneously.

Prints are available in the following scores:
  • Beethoven's Sonata in C Minor
  • Nobody Knows Da Trouble I've Seen for Wurlitzer Organ
  • When a Moonbeam Falls at Midnight for Wurlitzer Organ
  • Loves Old Sweet  Song - Part One for Wurlitzer Organ
  • Loves Old Sweet Song - Part two for Wurlitzer Organ

HOC EST CORPUS

Digital Print
Somerset Paper
To purchase please contact me.
Inspired by sound installation Tree Performance, this work visualises the capability of recorded sound to lure and imitate reality. Animals offer a fantastic example of the effects that sound can have on behaviour, emotion and even movement.

The title, Hoc Est Corpus, which translates to 'this is the body' from the Roman Catholic liturgy of the Eucharist, is also speculated to be the origin of the phrase Hocus Pocus which alludes to the understanding of the physicality of the body and possible 'magic' that can take hold of it.
